Spread the Word

There are countless ways to get involved. Staying informed and being proactive in your community is an excellent way to raise awareness and spread the word. Becoming active in your local government by campaigning for stronger environmental regulations, informing politicians about the issues, or even taking to your twitter or facebook account with the issues each raise awareness for a healthier environment and a good start to the recovery of our oceans.

To stay informed and spread the message, many excellent educational medium exist. For example, documentary films are highly informative and something you can watch with the whole family. Our Blue Canoe, which will be complete in 2013 and The Cove which explores the annual dolphin slaughter in Japan are each feature length documentaries and highly informative. For a shorter video, see the Natural Resources Defense Council’s clip on noise pollution, which is narrated by Pierce Brosnan.
